IEA 4th Annual Energy Training Week

International Energy Agency‌ (IEA) 4th annual Energy Training Week - offering the latest knowledge from IEA’s experts and discussing important energy trends and developments.

Participants will become familiar with the theory and application of the IEA’s internationally recognised models and tools. The event is primarily targeted at developing countries and emerging economies.

‌Interact with world-class energy experts: this highly interactive training event is delivered by a large team of IEA experts who will take participants through a rich mixture of focussed lectures, practical exercises and field trips. Several renowned guest lecturers will also contribute to making the training a rich professional experience. Participants from over 50 countries are expected to attend and there will be many opportunities for networking and knowledge sharing.

The event offers five advanced courses (7-11 April), each focusing on a distinctive energy theme and exploring a wide range of aspects that relate to it. Included in this year’s programme are core themes such as energy security and markets, energy technology planning, and integrated energy policy development. Special attention will be given to the relationship between energy and climate and, as in previous years, one course offers a cross-cutting mixture of the “hot topics” of the energy world.

In addition, there are two introductory courses (3-4 April) which will provide an overview of some key energy topics – such as energy security and energy sustainability – and they are intended to prepare participants less familiar with the energy sector for the advanced course.
